Review
The Motorola Moto Z2 Play is a nice phone and the design is exceptional. The outside of the
device looks very good. It also has a nice feel in the hand, but this phone can be easily
dropped, particulally when using Moto Mods™. The design is the same as all 2017 Motorola phones.
This phone has a good camera, but takes amazing 4k videos, and, for vloggers, live streaming
is built in. Also, with the 360 camera Moto Mod, you can do live streaming with 3d sound and
4k in 360 degree.
The front-facing camera is also good, with 1080p resolution video and 5MP selfies with a dual
LED flash.
The phone can be charged with USB-C, which means that it comes with really fast charging,
meaning that the phone can be charged within one hour when using the correct charging brick.
Also, some other inputs include the 3.5mm AUX input, which is surprising that they managed to
fit it on this device as it is 6mm in depth.
The operating system that is on the device in Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The UI on the device is
Pure Android, which is what Motorola calls it. Any bloatware is not bloatware, as you
actually use these apps. These include the Moto Z Market, which you might think is an
alternative to the play store that Motorola wants you to go to, but no, you actually shop
for physical accessories for the device, most, of which, are Moto Mods, but you can also get
things like charging bricks as well. If you were wondering what Moto Mods were; they are
devices that automatically attach to the back of the device to make it a hybrid. For example,
there is the Moto Mod projector, which means that your phone is also a projector. There also
are attachable speakers, power packs, cameras and more. Also, you don't have to worry about
not being able to use cases, as you can get magnetic Moto Mod cases that do nothing, but it
is convenient for them to be connected via the magnets, as an ordinary case would mean that
you would take the phone apart around five times a day.
Also, another Motorola app is the Moto app, which can have you do actions, for example,
double twist to open the camera app and to chop twice to switch on the flashlight. Also,
it has an intergrated digital assistant, that is not to replace Google Assistant, but to
work along side it, even though they are not compatible. With this assistant, you can just
command it to open apps by saying something like "show me the play store" or you can ask it:
"show me the weather". This assistant does not say anything, but it saves the hassle of
saying OK, Google, and then having to see another screen appear as the physical app.
